“Moving from one small town to another seemed questionable at first, but studying at Augustana opened doors to countless opportunities. As an Indigenous learner, I had the opportunity to work under assistant professor Willow White as a research assistant on two projects: 'Revitalizing Augustana's Indigenous Lands, Languages, and Cultures' and 'MMIWG in the Canadian Media.' These experiences were pivotal in providing me with a deep sense of belonging and commitment to cultural preservation, and they inspired me to become an Indigenous Peer Mentor where I support students in maintaining their cultural identity.”
