Safe work practices
Before you begin
Prior to starting work, conduct a hazard assessment of your planned tasks. Consider the following:
Will you be working with hazardous substances?
Review the following HSE guidelines that pertain to your work:
- Code of Practice: Use or Handling of Nuclear Substances
- Laser Safety Manual
- Biosafety Guidelines
- Chemical Safety Guidelines
Reference the documents and use the safe work procedure template to develop safe practices for the work you have planned.
Are you planning to work with human clinical specimens?
Note: It is your responsibility to complete all recommended vaccinations and retain documentation; HSE neither collects nor stores vaccination records.
