North Campus Ambassadors
Represent the U of A
U of A Ambassadors play a vital role in representing the University of Alberta by volunteering as tour guides, greeters and student leaders. Your perspectives, energy and experiences help to deliver on the university’s student-centred promise! Through campus tours and helping at Open House, it is easy to see the important role of Ambassadors as a part of the public face of the U of A. Deepen your connection to the campus community while forging new friendships and engaging in meaningful activities that will support your personal and future professional growth.
Become a North Campus Ambassador
We are recruiting North Campus Ambassadors for the 2026-2027 academic year. If you are a returning student who loves meeting new people and making an impact on campus, this opportunity is for you!
Application Deadline: February 16, 2026
Other Campuses
We have Ambassador programs at all three of our great campuses. Not attending North Campus?
Why become a U of A ambassador?
- Become more involved with the campus community and share your student voice and U of A pride with others. You can be the reason a prospective student decides to apply!
- Enhance your skills—from communication to relationship building to teamwork to customer service to public speaking—you will grow as a person in this program!
- We have fun. Join this great team of passionate students, just like you, and make lifelong friends. You will participate in events from dodgeball tournaments to nacho competitions to volunteering in the community, and more!
- Take advantage of personal and professional opportunities that will serve you throughout your university career and beyond, including when applying for jobs.
But you don’t have to take our word for it. Hear about our great program from the Ambassadors themselves!
Roles + Responsibilities
U of A Ambassador
All U of A Ambassadors will participate in the following:
Campus Tours
Lead virtual and in-person Campus Tours and Lister Residence Tours, as part of the Campus Visit Program. Share your experience as a U of A student with prospective students and their supporters, as well as teachers, counsellors, alumni and the general public.
Community Engagement
Represent the U of A at events throughout the year facilitated by various campus partners. Assist with engaging experiences for prospective students at Open House, the largest recruitment event of the year.
Supporting Students
Help current and prospective students navigate the U of A experience. Be a welcoming face in the Student Service Centre to support current students and guests with their needs.
Grad Guides
Current or upcoming Graduate Students who are invited to the group interviews may have the opportunity to be a Grad Guide. This position has a lower time commitment than being a U of A Ambassador with a different scope of responsibilities. Applicants can indicate their interest in either the Grad Guide or standard U of A Ambassador position at any time during the application process.

Sharing Grad Student Experience
Through panels, networking events, and more share the graduate student experience with current undergraduate students and prospective graduate students virtually and on the U of A campus.
Grad Guides do not need to attend the Mandatory Dates listed below. On average, this volunteer position requires 1 hour per week, most of which is flexible around your schedule as a student.

All current students who will be continuing their studies for the 2026-2027 academic year are eligible to apply to be a U of A Ambassador! We welcome current students at any point in their university career.
