Fall Convocation 2026
Fall Convocation 2026 will be held on November 24-26, 2026 at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium. Faculty assignments to these dates will be posted to this website in early 2026.
Guest tickets for Winter (March) Convocation
If you are planning to attend your Convocation ceremony, you will not need a ticket for yourself, but you must update your attendance on the Graduation Status page in Bear Tracks so that we can reserve a seat for you with your fellow graduates. If your plans change, please change your attendance back to "no" in Bear Tracks.
You will also need to obtain ceremony tickets for your guests. Tickets are only available from Ticketmaster and will be distributed in three rounds. Access to the Ticketmaster site opens on February 17, 2026.
You will be eligible to receive an allotment of up to three guest tickets in the first round if you update your attendance before February 6, 2026. If you miss getting tickets in the first round, you will not be able to obtain the initial three tickets for your guests. There will be no exceptions. If any tickets remain after round 1, additional tickets may become available in a second round, but any additional ticket quantities will be limited. If there are any remaining tickets left after round 2, they may be available on the day of your ceremony.
Only graduates who attend their convocation ceremony will receive guest tickets. All guests, including babies and toddlers, will need their own ticket. Tickets are assigned to specific seats, and there is no fee for guest tickets. If your plans change and you are unable to attend your ceremony, please return your guest tickets to Ticketmaster using the Help feature on the app or website so another graduate may use them, and change your attendance to "no" in Bear Tracks.
Please note: The seating policy at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium is that every person must have a ticketed seat, including babies and children. Babies and children cannot be seated with graduates as only one seat is allocated per graduate, and babies and children must not be carried or accompany the graduate across the stage at the ceremonies. Doing so, places the graduate, venue and University at risk should a baby, child or graduate become injured in doing so.
Tips for accessing guest tickets on Ticketmaster:
- Clear your browsing history/cache on your device before logging into Bear Tracks.
- Make sure your device is running the latest version of its operating system.
- Download the Ticketmaster app to ensure easy access to your tickets.
- Set up a Ticketmaster account, if you don’t already have one. Every student must have their own Ticketmaster account.
- Enter your email address carefully to get your tickets in your account.
- Make sure you select the correct ceremony date and time.
- When asked for a passcode to unlock the tickets, enter your 7-digit U of A student ID number.
- Select the number of tickets you require in the ticket quantity dropdown box (1, 2, or 3 tickets).
- Choose the specific seats you want by clicking the blue dots on the seat map; on a mobile device, select Switch to Map to use the seat map to select your seats.
- Select your seats carefully! All tickets are assigned to specific seats. Check the row and seat numbers on the tickets you select before checking out to confirm that these are the seats you want. Tickets cannot be exchanged or swapped for different seats after you have checked out.
- Transfer your tickets to your guests, if you are able, to allow for you and your guests to be seated in a timely manner as graduate and guest seating are not together.
Accessibility
Accessible seating in the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium is indicated on the Ticketmaster seat map with a wheelchair symbol. If you have a guest that requires accessible seating (wheelchair, limited mobility, etc.), you can select up to two seats that are indicated on the seat map with a wheelchair symbol. You will be able to select your third guest ticket (if required) from a row nearby. Accessible seating in the first balcony can be accessed by elevator.
If you require accessible seating for yourself (wheelchair, limited mobility, etc.) please contact convocation@ualberta.ca before March 6, 2026 to discuss arrangements.
Location + Parking
Plan for extra time to get to Convocation. There are construction projects on campus that may affect access to parking and campus will be busy with many other graduates and their families heading to Convocation.
Parking is available in the Jubilee Carpark located adjacent to the Jubilee Auditorium. Surface parking is available on the south side. A parking fee will be charged during the ceremony. See Parking Lot locations for parking rates and more parking options.
