University of Alberta's deadline for applicant’s submission of a complete, eligible application with supporting documents to University of Alberta International Education and Enrolment (IEE, formerly UAI) via Horizons application portal. |

Deadline for University of Alberta to submit a list of selected Stage 1 candidates to Global Affairs Canada through the My EduCanada portal. Not all selected candidates are guaranteed funding through our institutional project. |

Deadline for University of Alberta to submit screened, complete, and eligible applications with any necessary supporting documents to the Global Affairs Canada through the My EduCanada portal. |

Results shared with all research candidates (selected, waitlisted, unsuccessful) and their prospective U of A Host Supervisor as soon as possible after we receive them. |

While EduCanada advertises August 1, 2026 as the earliest possible program start date, Sept 1 is the earliest research start date for all SEED-2 selected participants at University of Alberta, due to necessary registration procedures and processing times. |
|
February 1, 2027 |
As per the funding agency, this is the latest possible program start date. Please plan to arrive in Canada by no later than January 31, 2027. |
