Undergraduate Research Involvement Fair
Looking for research opportunities and resources? The FURCA Involvement Fair is your chance to connect with researchers, funding agencies, and other organizations that work with undergraduate (and prospective graduate) researchers.
Visit our exhibitors on Thursday, March 13 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on the main floor of the Students' Union Building (SUB) to learn more about research opportunities, funding opportunities and other ways that you can get involved in undergraduate research!
2026 Exhibitors
- Canadian Psychological Association
- The Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) is the national accreditation body for psychology in Canada and plays a key role in supporting research, training, and professional development. At the Involvement Fair, we will be promoting research-related opportunities including funding and awards, conference and presentation support, research resources, and access to journals and publishing pathways.
- Community Service-Learning
- Community Service-Learning (CSL) offers U of A students the opportunity to work and make a difference with a local community group, while reflecting and putting their experiences in context within a university course. We partner with over 150+ non-profit organizations each year.
- Crossings: An Undergraduate Arts Journal
- Crossings published interdisciplinary research in the Faculty of Arts (and this year starting with Faculty of Native Studies too). Sections include: fine arts, humanities, native studies, social sciences and creative artworks. Students can get involved by being part of the editorial team (section editors, peer reviewers, copy editors, design artist, communication leads). This year we will launch a podcast about research in the arts.
- Engineering Undergraduate Research Initiative
- EURI connects undergraduate and co-op students with hands-on, research-based learning opportunities across the Faculty of Engineering.
- Eureka
- Eureka is a science undergraduate research journal at the UofA. We provide undergraduate students with opportunities for understanding how the publishing process works, and also host an annual symposium every year with over 200 entries in 2025.

- Spectrum
- Spectrum is a student-powered, collaborative undergraduate research journal supported by the Undergraduate Research Initiative at the University of Alberta. We will be promoting opportunities for undergraduate students to publish their research and to learn how academic research is reviewed, prepared, and published.
- Student Team for Alberta Rocketry Research (STARR)
- STARR builds, designs, and flys sounding rockets at intercollegiate rockety competitions. We work to provide training to students and subsequently strengthen Alberta's Aerospace Industry talent pool.
- Youreka Edmonton
- Purpose of Youreka is to allow undergrads and high school students to create and present a dry lab research project. Our objective is to allow for individuals to experience research as it is a competitive field.
