Students can take courses offered by Chiba Faculties ("Faculty Direct Acceptance") or participate in the J-PAC program.
J-PAC program information:
This is a program for students who are interested in studying Japanese language and culture. It is open only to undergraduate students during their 3rd or higher year of study in a UAlberta program.
Participation in the J-PAC program requires that one of the following language criteria be met:
1) Have sufficient English proficiency to take classes offered in English, equivalent to CEFR B2, TOEFL iBT 72 or IELTS 5.5 or over, and have studied Japanese language for at least 50 hours.
2) Have sufficient Japanese proficiency to take classes offered in Japanese, equivalent to passing JLPT N2 or over.
Taking Courses Offered by Chiba Faculties / Faculty Direct Acceptance:
This is a program for undergraduate students (in their 3rd or higher year of study in a UAlberta program) or graduate students who would like to deepen their majors at Chiba University.
Not every faculty accepts exchange students or offers English-taught courses.
You will need to contact the desired Chiba faculty (offering all or most of the courses you'd like to take) directly to find out if they accept exchange students and, if yes, if they also offer English-taught courses and what exchange eligibility requirements you would need to satisfy for them.
