Preparing to Go
Once you have accepted your nomination to participate in a study or work abroad experience, there are still a few things left for you to do before you depart. Make sure to follow the steps outlined in After Submitting My Application to help you finalize your placement. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have made all the necessary arrangements before going abroad.
Before you leave Canada you will need to:
- make arrangements for accommodations, as well as health insurance and travel coverage
- obtain a study permit and visa
- participate in UAlberta's pre-departure orientation and workshops
- register with UAlberta's UGo Off-Campus Travel Registry
Also, consider budgeting for your abroad experience and taking the Global Perspectives (INTD 300) course to complement your international experience and earn 3 credits.
Study Permits and Visas
Make sure you have the proper documentation before you go abroad.
