They’re your first friendly faces abroad,  helping you navigate language, culture, and life in a new country. They are more than guides; they are connectors. Local coordinators are key to internships, cultural immersion, language support and your best memories abroad.

Curitiba, Brazil: Norma Müller

Role: Your go-to for cultural orientation, Portuguese language support, and internship connections.

Fun Fact: I spy with my little eye the moment when students start falling in love with Brazil — it always makes me smile.

Best Advice for Students: Brazil is a country of beauty and contradictions. If you stay open, curious, and thoughtful, you’ll find yourself falling for its culture — and discovering a deeper way of thinking about the world.

What do you love most about your city?
Curitiba is a big, developed city — but you can explore most of it on foot. Broad sidewalks, cafés, live music, and parks full of life make the outdoors irresistible. At night, the streets feel like they’re buzzing with conversation.

One spot students must visit:
Everyone talks about the capybaras at Barigui Park — they’re as calm as they are adorable.

Favorite memory with e3 students:
A student once described our prehistoric Araucaria angustifolia tree as “an umbrella tree.” I loved that comparison — clever, curious, and so observant of Brazil’s environment.

Berlin, Germany: Patrick Cajina Cortez

Role: Your support for living in Berlin, navigating internship opportunities, and feeling at home in the city’s culture.

Fun Fact: My life goal is to speak nine languages — I’m already 66% of the way there!

Best Advice for Students: Berlin can be anything you want it to be — artsy, quiet, nature-focused, worldly, or exactly like home. Let it surprise you.

One spot students must visit: Mauerpark on Sundays. Think open-air karaoke, live drumming, food vendors, and a flea market — all in one.

Favourite memory with e3 students: Sharing German snacks by the lake at Café am Neuen See — nothing beats good food and great company in the heart of Tiergarten.
