You’ll also learn how to identify top journals in your field for future publishing opportunities and discover practical tips to increase the visibility of your research. Whether you're preparing for a grant application, tenure review, award/job application or simply want to raise the profile of your work, this session will equip you with the tools to measure and communicate your impact effectively.
Objectives
- Describe the pros and cons of research metrics including citation counts, h-index, and journal impact factors.
- Ability to locate research metrics from Scopus and Journal Citation Reports.
- Identify high impact journals relevant to research areas to inform future publication strategies.
- Apply strategies to increase research visibility including open access publishing, researcher profiles, and promoting work through academic networks and social media.
