The MITACS Globalink programs support research collaboration and international mobility by helping to fund the stays of talented international students with UAlberta researchers for short-term projects.

Mitacs Globalink Research Internship (GRI)
The GRI program offers fully-funded placements for international senior undergraduate students from select universities to perform research in Canada for 12 weeks over the summer.
Student participants contribute to research projects supervised by University of Alberta faculty members in a variety of academic disciplines at campuses in both Edmonton and Camrose.
Please Note: While Mitacs has various research scholarships for inbound and outbound researchers, only the inbound Mitacs Globalink Research Internship (GRI) program is directly overseen by University of Alberta International Student + Visitor Services (ISVS). Globalink Research Internship (GRI) participants receive funding support from Mitacs for:
- Flights to Canada
- Transportation from airport in Canada to accommodations
- Stipend for housing
- Health insurance
- Stipend for food and incidentals
