Information for Selected Mitacs GRI Participants:
Congratulations! The internship coordinator, along with all of our team here at International Student + Visitor Services, is so excited to welcome you to the University of Alberta for your Mitacs GRI 2026 placement. We are grateful to play a part in facilitating your successful research internship stay with one of our many expert host professors, whom we thank for sharing their time and talents mentoring you.
We understand that you may already be communicating with your U of A host professor directly by email through December and January. As soon as we have your contact information and placement details, we look forward to sharing more information to help prepare you for your visit.
As of mid-February, Mitacs GRI has now shared an intern list with U of A! We will contact all Mitacs GRI participants on that intern list, along with your host professors, so that everyone is on the same page at the same time. You may find it helpful to review answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
With dozens of talented students heading our way through this program, please be aware that it often takes us a few business days to reply back to any email inquiries. We aim to answer you as soon as possible, and do not wish to discourage you from reaching out, but rather set realistic expectations on when you may receive a response. Mitacs often has an automated reply to their emails stating that it may take up to 5 business days to receive a response from them as well, so we thank you in advance for your patience.
