Centres + Institutes

Research Centres and Institutes bridge academia and industry, driving collaboration, innovation and real-world solutions that strengthen Alberta’s engineering research ecosystem.

The Faculty of Engineering’s centres and institutes provide the collaborative structure that drives much of our research. These hubs bring together faculty, students and partners to advance work in areas such as energy, water, materials, infrastructure and emerging technologies. They support applied projects, shared facilities, industry partnerships and training opportunities that put students at the heart of active research. By connecting expertise across departments and sectors, our centres and institutes form the backbone of engineering’s research ecosystem.
