Facilities

Our facilities provide the tools, spaces and technical expertise researchers need to explore ideas from concept to large-scale validation.
The Faculty of Engineering offers one of the most extensive collections of engineering research facilities in Canada, spanning micro and nanoscale fabrication, advanced manufacturing, structural and materials testing, hydraulics, construction automation, mining systems, biomedical engineering and large-scale pilot environments.
Students, faculty and partners work in specialized labs, cleanrooms, makerspaces, computation and AI hubs, incubators and field-scale testing sites that support research across every discipline. These spaces enable experimentation, prototyping, modelling and full-scale validation, giving researchers at all levels the tools they need to advance new technologies and methods. Together, they form a comprehensive infrastructure that drives hands-on learning, interdisciplinary collaboration and high-impact engineering research.
